Description
The primary goal of this continuing education program is to offer mental health providers the knowledge, tools, and structure to help clients recover from psychological conditions that lead to emotional eating and weight gain. Participants will gain an understanding of the process and application of psychological inquiry and skills relevant to sustainable behavioral change. Comprehensive and engaging, this course contains over 170 topics, and is supported by a detailed instructor guide, 250-page course text & workbook, videos and other proprietary tools. This course specifically addresses brain-body functioning and recovery from depression, anxiety disorders, complex trauma, compulsion and the science of addiction, family and relationship dynamics, as well as environmental concerns that include social media marketing, stigma, the workplace and obesogenic influences. Founded on Integrated Weight Management Therapy (IWMT) the course incorporates evidence-based practices from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, Attachment Theory, Transactional Analysis, Mindfulness and more.
